4-hour standoff in Kyle ends in arrest

KYLE, Texas (KXAN) — Hays County Sheriff’s deputies have taken a man into custody who had felony warrants out for his arrest after a four hour standoff on Sunday in Kyle.

Sheriff’s deputies and the SWAT team, which works in conjunction with San Marcos police, responded to a home in the 1700 block of High Road around 1:30 p.m. The home is near Rolling Meadows Lane and east of Highway 21.

A spokesperson with the Sheriff’s office said the man barricaded himself inside the home.

The man had warrants for evading arrest, criminal mischief, assault on a public servant and robbery.

Residents in the area were not evacuated.
