SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KXAN) — San Antonio news outlets are reporting former state lawmaker Ruth Jones McClendon has passed away.

WOAI reports State Rep. Barbara Gervin-Hawkins confirmed McClendon, 74, died Tuesday morning. She had battled brain cancer and in 2014 underwent an operation to remove water on her brain.
