Train collides with vehicle along FM 812 in Bastrop County

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A train crash shut down Farm to Market 812 just west of Farm to Market 20 in the town of Red Rock in southwest Bastrop County Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson for Union Pacific says a driver struck a southbound UP train at the FM 812 crossing in Red Rock around 9:30 a.m.. “The vehicle hit a rail car, but there were no punctures, releases or spills,” explained Jeff Degraff with Union Pacific.

No one was injured in the crash. The road was closed for approximately five hours as UP crews worked to repair the damage done to a wheel on the rail car.
