AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds of Bluebonnet Electric customers are without power Monday morning after a car hit a power pole, officials tweeted.

About 870 households and businesses in Bastrop County are affected by the outage as of 5:30 a.m., officials say. A vehicle hit a power pole and damaged a section of power lines that serve the area.

Crews are working to restore power in the area and Bluebonnet Electric officials say they will update users when they arrive on scene and assess the damage.
