AUSTIN (KXAN) — The woman who was killed in a crash Thursday, April 18 after a driver ran a red light on Farm to Market Road 973 in southeast Austin has been identified by Austin police.
Police said 77-year-old Elvira Cadena Trujillo was traveling down Pearce Street at about 10:15 a.m. where she turned left at a green light onto FM 973. An oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck traveling north on FM 973 ran a red light a struck Trujillo’s vehicle.
Trujillo was taken to South Austin Hospital where she died from her injuries. Pearce Lane at FM 973 was closed for a time as crews cleared the scene.
