AUSTIN (KXAN) — A woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly threatening someone with a handgun in downtown Austin, according to Austin police.

The victim told police that around 7 a.m., she was approached by 25-year-old Destiny Robinson on the 500 block of East 7th street, where the two got into a heated argument.

According to the victim, Robinson then pulled out a handgun and pointed it directly at her face. She told officers that she was approximately three feet from the weapon.

The arrest affidavit states that the victim was able to flag down a nearby APD officer. When the officer arrived on the scene, he was told by the victim that Robinson no longer had the gun with her, but rather ditched it in a black bag nearby.

According to the arresting officer, he witnessed the suspect walk down the block with the black bag as he was trying to get her to stop. She rounded a corner but returned shortly after without the bag.

Additional officers discovered the black bag described by the victim down the block hidden in some grass.

The officers stated that inside the bag they found a loaded semi-automatic handgun that matched the description given to them by the victim.

Robinson was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond is set at $25,000.
