AUSTIN (KXAN) — A woman accused of robbing a beauty store and punching the manager has been taken into custody by the Austin Police Department.

Terri Marie Wright, 45, is accused of entering the Beauty Plus store located at 2805 Rogge Lane on Nov. 12, 2018, grabbing several items of merchandise and leaving the store. According to the warrant, the manager then followed her out of the store and demanded the armful of merchandise back.

The warrant states that Wright told the manager she had a gun and threatened to shoot him before punching him in the eye.

After reviewing the surveillance video, an Austin detective spoke to the manager of the convenience store next to the beauty store, who said he knew of the woman and believed her name was “Terry.” The food store manager then shared videos from his store, which allegedly also showed Wright shoplifting.

Several different APD officers and a previous booking photo later confirmed the identity of Wright, according to the warrant.

She is accused of a second degree felony offense of robbery by assault.
