AUSTIN (KXAN) — Those visiting downtown Austin this weekend may spot a few more superheroes, anime characters and maybe even some celebrities on the streets. Wizard World Comic Con is taking over the Austin Convention Center this weekend.
Some panels and celebrity appearances are scheduled for Friday, when the festivities begin at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday are jam-packed full of other activities, exhibitions and meet-and-greets.
There are panels and conversations with celebrities like David Tennant and Peter Capaldi (both of whom have played Doctor Who), Pearl Mackie and Alex Kingston (both also of “Doctor Who” fame), Zachary Levi (who has starred in a range of roles from “Thor: The Dark World” to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and Danny Trejo (known for “Machete” and “Death Race: Inferno”). Dozens of other actors, voice actors, artists and creators will also attend.
Tickets are still available online, with general admission starting at $39.95 for Friday only and increasing in price depending on the number of days or VIP opportunities.
