AUSTIN (KXAN) — A truck and CapMetro bus collided in central Austin and the bus hit a home Monday.

It happened at 3 p.m. at East 53rd Street and Duval Street, which is west of Airport Boulevard, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. Duval Street and part of 53rd Street are shut down as police investigate, according to Austin Police Department.

The bus driver, two passengers and the driver of the truck were hurt and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to ATC EMS. It evaluated 15 people. It said five people were inside the home at the time but they were not hurt. They will, however, have to stay somewhere else because of the damage to the house and the need for officials to shut off their utilities.

According to Google Maps, there are two bus stops on either side of that intersection. CapMetro said the bus was traveling on Route 7, which is a high-frequency route between the Crestview station and William Cannon at Bluff Springs.
