Andrea Trevino pulled into her north Austin driveway Wednesday afternoon to find bark strewn about her yard.
Going to her security cam, Trevino realized she caught the moment around 11 a.m. that a lightning strike shot down the center of the tree in her front yard.
The trash cans parked right next to her tree barely moved.
“It was awesome, but kind of scary, too!” she said.
Lightning strikes in Caldwell and Williamson counties started house fires Wednesday.
Everyone inside was able to safely escape both homes.
