Unlicensed chiropractor investigated for allegedly abusing client

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An unlicensed chiropractor is being investigated for allegedly sexually assaulting clients, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

Suspect Stephen Berman had his chiropractor’s license expire back in September 2017. The investigation began when a female patient came forward, claiming Berman inappropriately touched her and made sexually suggestive comments towards her during an adjustment.

According to TCSO, a search warrant was served at a property on the 1400 block of Miami Drive in west Austin used by Berman as an office through Jan. 7.

Berman has been arrested and charged with three counts of practicing chiropractic care without a license, and he could face additional charges.

The TCSO’s Sex Crimes Unit is asking anyone who may have been a victim to contact its tip line at (512)-854-144
