AUSTIN (KXAN) — Uber announced Thursday they will be launching their own JUMP e-scooters in Austin.

Along with their rideshare service and e-bikes, customers will now be able to request an e-scooter as well through the Uber app.

Uber launched its dockless electric bike share service, JUMP, earlier this year.

“Riders have told us they like having multiple transportation options available within a single app to fit their various needs,” said JUMP general manager David Brightman.

The company is offering free rides through Nov. 11 for up to 30 minutes. Uber is also giving away free helmets to promote safe riding when using one of their scooters.
