AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two motorcyclists died when they were involved in crashes during ROT Rally last weekend. Both crashes happened near the Travis County Expo Center where the bulk of the rally is held.

The first motorcycle crash happened on Saturday, June 9, around 10:20 p.m. in the 7700 block of Decker Lane. Austin police say one motorcyclist ran into the back of another motorcyclist who was making a U-turn.

Cheryl Kelly, 56, was a passenger on one of the motorcycles. She was taken to the hospital where she died three days later.

The second crash happened on Sunday, June 10 at 3 a.m. Police say the motorcyclist, Mark Capistran, 50, was stopped facing westbound in the 7300 block of Decker Lane when a driver in Buick Lacrosse going northbound ran into him.

Capistran was taken to the hospital where he died the following day. No charges are expected to be filed at this time.
