AUSTIN (KXAN) — Authorities responded to an auto-pedestrian collision in south Austin off West Oltorf Street Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred on the 900 block of Oltorf Street at 8:45 a.m. According to APD, the driver of a GMC pickup was pulling out of a convenience store when he accelerated and went into a tailspin due to the slick road.
The truck lost control and struck an 18-year-old AISD student waiting at the nearby bus stop. the student suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck did not test positive for drugs or alcohol but was cited for failure to control his speed.
This crash happened blocks away from a deadly collision between a car and a motorcycle. Police say the driver in that collision also lost control.
