Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Three shoppers took Black Friday deals to a whole new low Friday when police say they shoplifted from a Macy’s store.

According to an arrest affidavit Vicki Morgan, Michelle Sowell and an unidentified man were detained by asset protection workers at the Macy’s store in The Domain.

The workers say they noticed the three people acting suspiciously and passing different items back and forth. They said they saw Morgan enter a fitting room with several items and exited the room with nothing.

According to the affidavit, the woman each had “large purses” with them as they attempted to exit the store. The store employees say they tried to stop the trio but the man ran out and drove off leaving the two women behind.

When police questioned them, Morgan and Sowell admitted to stealing the items according to police report.

The affidavit says the trio stole men’s and women’s clothes, jewelry and a Gucci perfume all totaling  $1,272.46

Morgan is charged with engaging in criminal activity — a third degree felony.
