AUSTIN (KXAN) — Three districts for the Austin City Council will be going to runoff elections between the top two vote recipients in each of those districts.
After close races on the Nov. 6 election, Austin City Council Districts 1, 3, and 8 will be holding runoff elections.
The date for the runoff elections is Tuesday, Dec. 11. Early voting will begin Nov. 29, and continue through Dec. 7.
A forum for the candidates will be held on Monday, Nov. 26, and it will be hosted by the City of Austin and the League of Women Voters Austin Area Chapter. The forum will feature an opening an closing statement from each candidate as well as a question and answer session.
The District 1 forum begins at 6 p.m., the District 3 forum begins at 7 p.m., and the District 8 forum begins at 8 p.m. The forums will be held at the City Hall Council Chambers on 301 West Second Street.
