The LCRA partially opens floodgate at Tom Miller Dam to relieve flood waters

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Lower Colorado River Association has partially opened one floodgate at the Tom Miller Dam Sunday afternoon.

The LCRA opened the gate at 1 p.m. to relieve flood levels along the Colorado River. According to the LCRA, the peak of the flooding on the river passed Bastrop Saturday and reached Smithville on Sunday.

With the water in Lake Bastrop above normal operating range, the LCRA is planning to make controlled releases on Monday to reduce levels in the lake.
