AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Heart Of Texas Regatta, a US Rowing nationally recognized regatta held annually at the beginning of spring, is wrapped up its final races Sunday.
The Austin Rowing Club has hosted Heart Of Texas Regatta on Lady Bird Lake since 1983.
The regatta was originally for visiting crews. However, today the event has grown to include Masters, Open and Junior events all within two days of racing.
The race takes place on a seven-lane 1,000-meter course. The course is complete with a state-of-the-art starting platform.
The Heart Of Texas Regatta has more than 800 entries with 1,500+ participants every year.
