A teenager was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after someone jumped on top of him while he was swimming at Bartholomew Pool in east Austin, says Austin-Travis County EMS.
The original call came in around 10:15 a.m. for a male who was injured while diving at the pool located at 1800 East 51st Street. However, when medics arrived they discovered the teenager had been injured when someone jumped on him.
The pool is currently closed to the public, but Tuesday morning was open for Swim ATX, which is a lifeguard training program collaboration with Austin Parks and Recreation and Austin ISD.
One of the teens didn’t realize the other was already in the water, and jumped in, landing on top of him, Parks and Rec said.
