Suspect in October murder arrested, reward offered for information

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a murder case from early October, according to Austin Police.

The Lonestar Fugitive Taskforce took Cornell Loving, 49, into custody on Oct. 27. He is being charged with a parole violation and first-degree murder. His current bond is set at $50,000.

Last month, APD responded to a call of an urgent disturbance at 5:58 p.m on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 9133 Northgate Blvd. near the corner of West Rundberg Lane.

According to APD, when officers arrived they found the victim, 63-year-old Dennis Stoneburner, on the ground with “clear trauma” to his body.

Austin-Travis County EMS transported Stoneburner to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. He died on Friday, Oct. 19.

APD is still interviewing witnesses and is offering a $1000 reward for any information leading to a conviction.
