AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man suspected of smashing the window of a Porsche at a garage in the Domain and taking a radar detector has been arrested.
The victim heard a car alarm going off in the Kenzie residential garage at 1302 Esperanza Crossing on July 7 and realized it was his own, according to an affidavit. He had an in-car video camera that captured a man reaching into the car around 2:47 p.m. He shared video of the break-in with police and on his Facebook page, and the security camera company Owl also shared the video on its social media.
Police matched the security video to Facebook and previous booking photos of Taylor Austin Alexander, 34. Alexander faces a criminal mischief charge, which is a state jail felony.
The victim estimated damage to his 2015 Cayman Porsche was $4,342.19.
