South Austin motorcycle crash sends two to hospital

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A motorcycle crash that happened late Friday night in south Austin sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.

Austin-Travis County EMS first tweeted about the crash just after 10:30 p.m. It happened at the 1600 block of E William Cannon Dr. That is along the South I-35 Frontage Rd heading north in between Stassney and Slaughter Lane.

EMS officials declared a trauma alert for a female in her 20s at 10:57 p.m. A male in his 40s was also injured in the crash.

They were both transported to St. David's Medical Center South. The male had critical, life-threatening injuries and EMS said the female had potentially serious injuries. 

It is still unclear what caused the crash.
