AUSTIN (KXAN) — Soccer players wanting to represent Austin will be able to try out for its new United Soccer League team next month.
Austin Bold FC will hold its first open tryouts for the 2019 season Nov. 9 and Nov. 10 at McAngus Field at Circuit of the Americas. Players will play in up to five 30-minute 11-versus-11 matches. Those players who the coach and scouts like will then attend a combine in Austin with the team in January or February.
It costs $155 to register for the tryouts, which pays for 2 training shirts and refreshments, but people will have to bring their own gear and pay for any travel or lodging themselves. Participants who are 16 or older can sign up online.
Austin Bold FC’s first season is in 2019, with pre-season for the Division II team beginning in February and the regular season starting in March.
