Suspect in custody, shelter in place lifted for northwest Austin apartment complex


AUSTIN (KXAN) — An hours-long shelter in place has been lifted for residents of the Hendrix Apartments after the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect.

Kaliceon Lewis, 21, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence and aggravated kidnapping. He was booked into the Williamson County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.

On Tuesday morning, residents of the apartment complex at 9815 Copper Creek Drive were asked to stay inside their homes and lock the doors after reports of a barricaded person in the area.

Williamson County said local law enforcement enacted a shelter-in-place notice at 10:18 a.m. for the area.

The Central Texas Regional SWAT Team helped with Lewis’ arrest.
