Second person in 2 days killed crossing street in hit-and-run in Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — For the second time in two days, a person was hit while crossing in Austin and the driver left the scene. Authorities responded to the latest traffic fatality Friday morning in north Austin, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

ATCEMS reported that a call of an auto-pedestrian crash on Farm to Market Road 1825 and Wells Branch Parkway at 5:45 a.m.

One male patient was brought to St. David’s Medical Center in Round Rock to be treated for critical life-threatening injuries. Austin police have confirmed that the victim of the crash died from their injuries.

Authorities have also reported that the vehicle that struck the man left the scene.

West Wells Branch Parkway was closed for part of the morning at FM 1825. 

On Thursday, a man was hit and killed while crossing in the 8700 block of North Lamar Boulevard. Police say a person driving a truck hit him and then drove off.
