Police identify man killed in north Austin crash Friday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man killed in a car crash in north Austin Friday has been identified by Austin police.

Ronald Hadnot, 52, was killed in a crash Friday, Oct. 12, just before 6 p.m. in the 12700 block of Research Blvd Frontage Road. 

According to police, as a gray Altima exited a private drive, it attempted to make its way into the far left lane on the frontage road. An oncoming gray Ford Escape traveling southbound collided with the Altima in the far left lane. 

Hadnot was riding in the passenger seat of the Escape and was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas. He died on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

The driver of the Escape was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the driver of the Altima stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

This crash is Austin’s 58th traffic fatality of this year. 

APD is investigating this incident and advises anyone with information on the crash to call (512) 974-6935.
