Police identify man accused of firing more than 50 shots at Pflugerville apartments

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) -- Police have identified the man accused of firing more than 50 shots at a Pflugerville apartment last Thursday morning.

Pflugerville police said David Deluna, 31, is charged with six felony charges, four for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two for deadly conduct.

Police were dispatched to the Highlands Luxury Apartments at 1501 South Heatherwilde Blvd. just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday for a shots fired call. When officers arrived, they heard shots firing from inside an apartment at the complex.

Police estimate that more that 50 shots total were fired from within the apartment. Bullets flew through the walls and pierced into several other apartments next door and to the exterior of the building.

Once police were able to isolate Deluna, residents were safely able to evacuate to a nearby building. That is when police said Deluna ended up falling out of an apartment window where they were able to apprehend him and transport him to the hospital.

Multiple firearms were also found in the residence with both spent and live ammunition, police said. The affidavit said there were more than one hundred fired cartridge casings of one caliber inside.
