Pole down after wreck in central Austin, won’t be fixed for hours

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are asking drivers to avoid an intersection in central Austin Monday after a collision brought a traffic pole down.

The early morning collision took place at the intersection of Shoal Creek Boulevard and Allandale Road.

It could take hours for crews to fix the knocked down traffic pole. Officials hope to have the pole back up and the traffic lights back on by 5 p.m.

Police are at the intersection redirecting traffic and advise drivers to take alternate routes.
