Pflugerville will start clear bag policy at Pfield next year

PFLUGERVILLE (KXAN) — The Pflugerville School District will follow in step with other local athletic departments and implement a clear bag policy at The Pfield, starting in the 2019-20 school year.

“The safety of our students, parents and fans in attendance at our sporting events is our No. 1 priority at The Pfield,” Pflugerville Athletic Director Todd Raymond said. “This clear bag policy will help us keep everyone in attendance at our football and soccer games safe.”

Approved bags include clear bags that do not exceed 12 inches in length or height and 6 inches in width. The policy limits each person to one bag.

Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and have a maximum of one logo imprint not exceeding 4.5 inches tall and 3.4 inches wide.

The only non-clear bags that will be permitted into the stadium are small bags no larger than the size of a hand, like a clutch with or without the strap, according to the press release.

Locally, Austin ISD, Lake Travis ISD and Hays CISD added clear bag policies over the past year. The University of Texas enforces the clear bag policy at all its sporting events.
