Pedestrian hit by car on Guadalupe Street dies nine days later

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A pedestrian involved in a crash on the corner of Guadalupe Street and Kenniston Drive in central Austin died from his injuries nine days later.

According to police, at approximately 8:17 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, a silver 2018 Mitsubishi heading north collided with a pedestrian near the 6900 block of Guadalupe Street.

The vehicle struck the victim, identified as 63-year-old Thomas Edward Craig, just north of the intersection of Guadalupe and Airport Boulevard.

The driver remained at the scene until authorities arrived. Craig was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. He succumbed to his wounds nine days later and was pronounced dead on Friday, Aug, 24.

APD is still investigating this case. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-3761.
