Organization helping Parkinson’s patients turns 6-years-old

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A local organization that aims to empower and help Parkinson’s patients is celebrating six years of serving the Austin community on Sunday.

Power for Parkinson’s held a birthday bash to celebrate.

The organization holds free exercise classes for people who have Parkinson’s and their caregivers. Research has shown that exercise is effective for treating patients suffering from the illness. That is why the organization offers different types of classes including a new young onset training class for people under 55-years-old. 

Classes are offered for people at 9 different locations in the Austin area.
