One rescued from truck after crash into Guadalupe St. business

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person has been injured after a pickup truck crashed into a building in central Austin.

Photos posted by the Austin Fire Department showed the mangled front-end of the truck after it crashed into the front wall of Mint beauty salon at 4023 Guadalupe St., next to 41st Street.

The driver was initially trapped but has since been rescued from the truck by firefighters.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the man in his 20s has been taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries. Medics were called to the scene at 3:59 p.m. Friday.

Austin police say northbound Guadalupe has been shut down.
