One person shot near apartment complex in south Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person was rushed to the hospital after a shooting near a south Austin apartment complex, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Austin police responded to a shoot/stab call at 12:27 p.m. in the 2200 block of Perry Ave. They are still searching for a suspect. 

The victim was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries, ATC EMS said.

According to APD, the shooting was gang-related, and APD’s gang task force is now involved in the investigation.
