Motorcyclist hurt in east Austin crash dies a week later

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A motorcyclist critically injured in a crash in east Austin last week died Wednesday.

Austin police say Michael Watson lost control of his motorcycle as he was going north on Springdale Road.

Watson, 38, hit the curb of Springdale Road and then the north side of Webberville Road before crashing into a utility pole, according to a police investigation. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Officers say the crash happened around 11:26 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13.

He was taken by medics to Dell Seton Medical Center and died from his injuries a week later.
