Medical examiner releases cause of death for ACL concertgoer

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Tuesday, the Travis County Medical Examiner revealed accidental drowning as the cause of death of Christopher Jay White, whose body was discovered floating in Lake Austin during the ACL Music Festival.

According to the medical examiner’s report, toxicology tests showed evidence of ethanol, cocaine and MDMA in White’s blood. According to reports, the 25-year-old had attended the festival with friends and on the first day of the event, White had left the friends’ rental home and never returned.

A missing person’s report was filed and about two days later, a passerby reported a floating body in Lake Austin, which was found a short distance from the rental property.

White was visiting for the festival from Minneapolis.
