AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man has been killed after shots were fired at a north Austin apartment complex in the early Saturday morning hours.
Austin Police responded to The Madison at Wells Branch Apartments after multiple 911 calls from surrounding neighbors beginning at 2:14 a.m.
The reports collectively reported a loud bang and someone yelling. The disturbance call later evolved into a shots fired call.
When officers arrived on the scene, one man was found unresponsive in the parking lot with bodily trauma. Austin-Travis County EMS pronounced the victim dead.
One other individual was located nearby and is now considered by officials a person of interest. Homicide detectives on scene will interview witnesses and the said person of interest. However, officials say there is currently no threat to the public.
