Man found dead on Walnut Creek Park trail in north Austin

A man in his 30s or 40s was found dead Monday afternoon on a trail in north Austin’s Walnut Creek Park, police said.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Park Bend Drive — next to MoPac Expressway and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center — at 12:41 p.m. after a woman called 911 saying she may have found a dead person in the park.

Homicide detectives are in the park investigating.

In an update Tuesday, police said the death is not suspicious.

Anyone with information on the death should call the Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588.

How long the man was on the trail before being found and his cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
