Man dies after being pulled from Lake Travis

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was pronounced dead after being pulled from the waters of Lake Travis Saturday evening.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist the Austin Fire Department at 8 p.m. on a call of a swimmer who had been pulled out of Lake Travis, unconscious. 

The man was identified as a Hispanic male in his 40s. He was transported to Mansfield Dam Park by boat. Once there, CPR was performed, but the life-saving measures were unsuccessful. 

The man was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m.

TCSO is investigating the cause of the man’s death.
