AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Transportation is launching its “Click it or Ticket” campaign this month and has a special Mother’s Day message in hopes of keeping Texas drivers safe.

TxDOT channeled its inner “Waterboy” on the latest sign shown across Texas highways that reads: “Mama Say, Buckle Up, Bobby Boucher”.

The sign is referring to the 1998 comedy starring Adam Sandler as Bobby Boucher in “The Waterboy”.

TxDOT is handing out some more essential, motherly advice in another digital billboard that reads: “Be Safe, Drive Smart, Love Mama”

TxDOT’s “Click it or Ticket” campaign runs May 20-June 2. Police across the state of Texas will be increasing efforts and strictly enforcing  laws by ticketing drivers and passengers not wearing a seat belt.
