AUSTIN (KXAN) — Starting at 9 p.m. tonight the northbound lanes of I-35 will be reduced between US Highway 290 East and US Highway 183, and the northbound I-35 entrance ramp from US 290 East will be closed.

Around 11 p.m., rolling closures will occur on the northbound I-35 mainlanes. Traffic will remain on the mainlanes, however, speed will be greatly reduced. Police will be controlling traffic during the process.

On Wednesday night, construction will switch to the southbound lanes of I-35. Lanes will be reduced between US 183 and US 290 East, and the southbound I-35 entrance ramp from Rundberg Lane and the southbound US 183 to southbound I-35 flyover will be closed. Similar rolling closures will begin at approximately 11 p.m. on the southbound I-35 mainlanes.

Road signs will be placed to alert drivers of the closures, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, as delays are expected. TxDOT asks drivers to adhere to construction signage and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
