LLANO, Texas (KXAN) — Residents are encouraged to limit water use after the City of Llano upgraded its drought plan to stage 5 on Saturday.

Water flow into lakes is currently at less than two cubic feet per second.

Outdoor watering is still limited to once per week on residents’ assigned watering day and times. The city is encouraging residents to do their watering by hand with a hose only between 6:00 and 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. and midnight.

The goal of stage 5 is to limit water pumpage to 450,000 gallons per day.

All restrictions from stage 4 are still in effect.

Not allowed:

  • Sprinklers
  • Using water to wash cars, boats, trailers or any other vehicle
  • Filling/refilling pools or hot tubs
