AUSTIN (KXAN) — Breast cancer patients in Austin got a little something special for the holidays Thursday. 

Austin Designer Kendra Scott gave away jewelry to several Texas Oncology patients. She gifted the women rose quartz.

The healing stone was delivered with handwritten notes of encouragement.

“It brings a little joy to their faces this time of year, this holiday season, helps them know that they’re supported not only by friends and family but by members of the community as well,” said Ryan Tierney, a radiation oncologist with Texas Oncology.

Since 2015, Scott has given jewelry to almost 44-thousand women affected by breast cancer.
