Kangaroo recaptured after bouncing around Liberty Hill over weekend

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Kangaroos are close to becoming a local icon in Central Texas. Twice in one week, a kangaroo was seen hopping around the area.

This time, a kangaroo ran wild in Liberty Hill on Sunday for several hours, according to Granger Mayor Trevor Cheatheam.

The kangaroo was captured and returned to its owner, who was traveling to Fort Worth with the animal, according to the mayor.

Another kangaroo was captured Saturday after taking a several day joyride through Hays County last week.

That kangaroo escaped from the Trails End Ranch, an exotic ranch, last week and was recaptured by the owner near Wimberley.
