Hundreds walk in support of combating human trafficking

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds gathered at the Wooldridge Square Park at 10 a.m. Saturday in support of a worldwide effort to combat human trafficking.

The Walk for Freedom was hosted by Celebration Church in partnership with A21, a non-profit working to spread awareness about human trafficking. The walk itself was silent as a way to shed light on the number of men, women and children who are victims of human trafficking.

Austin was one of 15 cities to take part in the event across the state and other walks were expected to take place across the nation.
