AUSTIN (KXAN) — KXAN is partnering with animal shelters across the Austin area Saturday to help fur babies find their forever home.

This weekend is the annual Clear the Shelters event. Many central Texans participate every year, and in 2017, 565 pets got adopted.

Right now Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is reporting 100 adoptions Saturday and 400 total adoptions since the Clear The Shelter promotions began in July.

Nationally, there have been over 69,000 total adoptions so far!
