Hundreds attend first ATX Food Truck Festival

Dozens of food trucks and hundreds of people gathered Sunday for the first ATX Food Truck Festival at Barton Creek Square.

Organizers say they hope to make it a monthly event.

The idea — a small entry fee gets you in to buy food at a boat-load of foodtrucks gathered all in one spot.

Some of the featured trucks today included Bert’s Chicken and Waffles, Happy Lobster, Shut Your Pie Hole, Make My Day Ice and Elsie’s Egg Rolls.

Some proceeds went to the Aspire to Be Foundation and Caritas of Austin.

The organizers tell us they hope to make the Food Truck Festival a monthly event.
