AUSTIN (KXAN) — As the partial government shutdown trudges on, Hopdoddy has jumped in to help those who have been affected.

The Austin-based burger joint is offering all furloughed government workers a free meal and 25 percent off all subsequent meals for the remainder of the government shutdown.

A tweet by the popular establishment announced on Wednesday, Jan. 23, anyone who shows their federal government ID will receive a free burger, fries and non-alcoholic beverage.

As of Wednesday, Jan. 23 the government has been shut down for 32 days. This upcoming Friday will see the Federal District courts run out of funds, and Federal workers will miss another paycheck.
