Herman: Team should cut Hager’s hair ‘March Madness’ style if UT wins

Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Call him “Brecky with the good hair.” A University of Texas defensive end who vowed to not cut his long, golden locks until the Longhorns won a Big 12 Championship could finally need a trip to the barber.

Breckyn Hager made that promise three years ago as a freshman, when his curly hair rested right around his ears. It is now halfway down his back.

Coach Tom Herman is looking forward to the moment of victory — both on the field and off it.

“Maybe it’ll be like March Madness where everybody gets a snip, you know, and we’ll walk by and everybody gets a snip,” Herman said. “I don’t know, but I’ll definitely take part in it.”

Herman added that Hager dislikes his long hair and can’t wait to get rid of it.
