Have you seen him? APD seeks info on whereabouts of sex offender

Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are asking for public help to find a wanted sex offender who is on the registry for a crime committed 10 years ago, police wrote in a press release Thursday.

In February, Cory Harris, 42, reported to the Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit that he was moving from his home in south Austin to Dallas. As of March 14, Harris had not yet registered with the Dallas Police Department.

“Cory Harris is known to frequent social media accounts to arrange ‘dates’ with women,” police wrote. “He often becomes violent and aggressive upon meeting up with women.”

A warrant has been issued for Harris’ arrest for not complying with the requirements of the Sex Offender Registry.

Anyone with information about Harris’ whereabouts is asked to contact the SOAR Unit at (512) 974-6280 or the Sex Crimes tip line at (512) 974-5095.
