APD: 3-year-old girl at center of Amber Alert found safe Thursday, suspect in custody

Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police say a 3-year-old girl, the subject of an Amber Alert issued Thursday morning, has been found safe.

APD also said the suspect in the girl’s abduction, earlier identified as her father, is in custody. The father’s identity was part of the original Amber Alert, but since he has yet to charged with a crime, we have removed his name from this story.

The two were last seen at 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 8800 block of Research Blvd. in north Austin near Payton Gin Road. APD sent out a tweet confirming the girl was found safe at 12:16 p.m. but didn’t say where the two were found.

We will update the story once we have more information.
